What material(s) are temporary crowns made of? Should I have to wait for three weeks for my permanent crowns from the lab?

i could be wrong but i think they're made of some sort of plastic type thing!

i wouldn't worry about three weeks of waiting - i've got temporary two onlays (similar to crowns) that i have to have throughout two years of orthodontic treatment!! my dentist doesn't want to make the final ones until my teeth are in the correct place!

so, yours should well last three weeks (mine have now lasted around 6 months and counting...).

i think a wait of a couple of weeks is fairly normal, i guess it all depends on your dentist, their labs, how busy the surgery is etc etc.

Usually lab made crowns take about 2 weeks- but this can vary depending on where the lab is, and what material the crowns are made of.
regards
Dr Mike
