Tongue Injection for biopsy

I have a small white circle on my tongue that has been there for a few months so my dentist said I should have it checked. I saw an oral surgeon who is not concerned about it but said we should biopsy it just to be 100%

I am reading (I know I shouldn’t) horror stories of how bad it is when you get a tongue injection to numb. Please help, is this true???

No, on the whole the injections for surface biopsy are pretty trivial. Just a few drops of local around the area, which topical anaesthetic will numb pretty well.
