My 8 year old child had an abscess on a stainless steel crowned tooth, pediatric dentist called it a pimple.

-The dentist popped it 2 days ago, and there is still a white pimple/dot there. Dentist said since her new tooth is coming out (showing on the xray), to take antibiotics and wait it out until the new tooth comes out. My child is not feeling any pain.

Any thoughts or experiences? Thanks very much!

The choice is either to go with the dentist's plan or have the tooth extracted. I'd go with the dentist's plan if the tooth is that close to falling out anyway.

Hi, just wanted more advice about my now 9 year old with an abscess. So it's six months and the baby tooth (1st year molar which is suppose to come out at ages 9-11), still has not shed naturally.

Six months, the pediatric dentist could see it on the xray coming through and told us to wait. How long does it take for a permanent tooth to come through, even if it can be seen on an xray?

Sorry, it's impossible to say without at least seeing an x-ray. We don't even know what tooth it is!
