Hi,

I had a fairly large filling done on my 2nd bottom right molar just over 6 weeks ago, but still having problems with it.
I get spontaneous pain every now and then that lasts a few seconds or so then goes. Occasionaly it will ache a bit longer, maybe for a few minutes, the spontaneous makes me think its my nerve dying.
It reacts quite sharply to cold but it doesn't linger more than a few seconds after stimulus is removed, there's no reaction or pain at all to hot.
It's never woken me up at night with pain.
For the first month I had pain when chewing on the tooth, but that resolved itself a few weeks ago and can chew on it fine now.

Does sound like irreversible pulpitis? Or maybe just lingering post op sensitivity?
Thanks

Honesty, it could be either :-( I'm afraid the only way to find out is to wait and see at this stage. Teeth can be maddening at times!
