I had 3 wisdom teeth removed; two were surgically removed. I've been on a soft diet since. I used this as an opportunity to quit smoking and haven't had a cigarette since the day before. I've irrigated like instructed and stuck to all the instructions like glue. I wasn't put on antibiotics right away.
However, I now feel like the poster child for everything wrong. :/ I have the numbing in my face running from my jaw up to my bottom lip which tingles a lot. I do not have the range of motion in my jaw like before and stretching is not helping. I still can't eat anything really solid since I can't open my mouth and chewing is exhausting. I also have a lump under my jaw now that isn't really going away and is very tender... Yesterday, day 7, I noticed that my mouth started tasting awful, the pain returned; pus came out of the wound and I got put on antibiotics.
So, here's what I want to know. What is that lump under my jaw and how long will it be there? He said nothing about it so I guess its normal. How long will it take for the pain to go away now that I'm on antibiotics? Is there something I can do to help speed up the process? I'm still flushing it with salt water. Also, since the numb area tingles does that mean the sensation may return? Lots of questions I know but my oral surgeon is very...standoff-ish.
