Yikes, here we go first visit in 5 years....

Well I've done it, booked to see an unkown to me, NHS dentist for Tuesday morning. Another lump of tooth dropped off this morning and I knew I had to act. Eating has hurt for weeks, on both sides. I've been rinsing with warm water for a year as I cant take cold water in my mouth it hurts too much.

It was time to bite the bullet, excuse the pun.

I used to have RA with a very sweet dentist, but he moved to York and ceased doing RA. I went a couple of times and he was still good, nice manner. Whilst on SSRI medication I had a seizure in 2006 which broke my jaw and dislodged three teeth badly. He cemented them up for me and asked that I come back in 3 weeks.

I did, and they were still loose and the jaw not set, so he asked me to come back in 3 months. I never went back. I was ill - coming off the prescribed medication on the advice of a neurologist made me really ill, and I couldnt work so I was broke.

So, on Tuesday I put my faith in a "very nice" NHS dentist, no RA, no nothing I dont think. It will be just a check up, so I'll see how it goes.....

Naturally i am dreading it. I warned the receptionist that I can have panic attacks. I hoep she understands I am not joking.

gd luck cloudberry hope all goes well, and well done for taking that first step, u wont regret it and with the help of people on here with their gd advice and support u will go further into any treatment as i did and wished i had done it sooner but am now looking to the future of a great smile and not looking miserable all the time because of being embarrassed because of the state of me teeth.
