5th lot of antibiotics!!!

i posted a question a couple of days ago about my ongoing tooth problem. To keep a long story short, I had an infected tooth root treated and crowned, then the crown taken off and root filling removed. My gums were constantly inflamed and sore, and I was given 4 lots of antibiotics.

last week the tooth was extracted, I was just finishing the 4th course of antibiotics. Been back to the dentist today as I'm still in the same pain I've had for ever. He has given me ANOTHER course of antibiotics. Why would these work if the others didn't. The tooth has gone so why am I still having issues?

i know only my dentist can answer that, but surely now the tooth is gone the infection should be too?

Anyone got any ideas?

Repeated courses of antibiotics is a clue that the wrong treatment is being pursued. Sometimes one must reevaluate a case as to the cause of the current problem.
