Some time yesterday, I was eating something( I might have been almonds but I'm not really positive) and suddenly one of my premolars felt like something slipped right in the middle of it. I didn't pay much attention to it, thinking it was just my imagination. Then, this morning, I woke up and started sort of wiggling that tooth with my tongue , out of curiosity. I felt the half that was closer to my tongue moving but the outer half wasn't moving nearly as much( it was a little bit loose though). I tried to reassure myself that I was imagining it but sure enough when I looked at the tooth in the mirror, the tooth was split right in half. :cry:In that tooth I have a filling in the center and it looks like the crack is right along the side of where the filling is. There is also a blackish spot toward the back corner where it looks like the crack starts. It doesn't hurt at all, even when I wiggle it. There is a tiny bit of pain when I chew food on that tooth but its not very significant.Do I need to go to the dentist and have it pulled even if it is JUST A BABY TOOTH? By the way, I'm 12, and no, I have not lost all my baby teeth yet.( My mom said I started getting teeth at 10 months ) I am very scared of going to the dentist, even just for check ups/ cleanings. Just sitting in the waiting room makes me SUPER nervous. Thanks for your help and sorry for the long description......;)

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Yes you do need to go to the dentist, it is better to have it looked at and let them treat it. I don't know what they will do, but you don't want to get infection in it, or to suffer pain if your gum gets sore even if the tooth doesn't hurt.

The dentists are very understanding and will do all they can to help make your visit as comfortable as they can. They can give totally pain free treatment. Explain how you feel and let them help you. At such a young age you don't want to wait for bigger problems. It will probably be a simple job now.

Have a talk with your mum and get her to ring the dentist for you, she will be able to go with you and give you the support you need as well.

getting teeth at 10 months is on the late side of normal so you might be losing them late. It's okay.
