Hi all,
So great to find a forum i can find help and support, boy do i need it.
I am now 33 and last saw the school dentist when i was 12 i think!
I have a huge fear and like most have not been near a dentist even with rotten teeth before, but for past 2weeks or so i have been unable to sleep with pain, eating is near impossible and the tooth pain is causing headaches and facial aches constantly so yes i have plucked the courage to make a trip to see a dentist. So 11am in the morning it is.....
I am more worried that maybe the dentist i have choose may not be suitable for a fearful wreck like me, not sure if allowed to post there website else i would for you to see.?
There website and even URL is "gentle", they claim to be great and patient with nervous patients so sounds good so far, but no mention of sedation or any calming techniques. I really felt i had to find a dentist who can see me fast, and they were close by.
Really wondering if i should cancel now and book with a phobic specialist and recommended dentist as recomended here? Even more so as the booking i have is nearly £100 and thats just 1st visit?!!? Not sure want to pay another trip after.
Oh what to do? Shall i go see the dentist i have booked? and hope there good and calming, or should i cancel and maybe have to wait more days to get an appointment with a "recommended specialist" ?
And well any support or advice would help me feel better! Sitting here terrified (and in pain!) about what is going to happen, i know for fact my back molars are pretty much in pieces and rotten/broken (hence the pain)
Will i live through this? (ok melodramatic i know, but sure you know the fear!)
I should say i am in South-East of UK by the way.
Thanks
