Disappointed and Embarrassed About New Over Dentures

So for the past two years, I've been undergoing multiple procedures to in preparation for over dentures. This includes over 22 root canals, the extraction of my molars and two of my wisdom teeth, and a decarinization (pretty sure I spelled that incorrectly but the procedure was essentially filling down my teeth to the level of my gums). All of these procedures were done so that way it would prevent me from just extracting all of my teeth and to save as much of my bone as possible (since I'm still growing).
After I went through all those procedures, my dentist finally got started in creating my over dentures. The things that worried me most these over dentures was that the dentist creating them was still a student, that they would be incredibly hard to talk and to eat in, and most of all that they would change the way i look too much, look too fake, and or look bad.
When my dentist first put on the (not sure of the correct terminology) wax "previews", if you will, of the over dentures and showed them to me, I was already disappointed as my worries came true. I tried to explain why I didn't like them and my dentist just absurd me that they're just fine (which I still find hard to believe). About a week later, the over dentures were finish and looked no different than before. The best way for me to describe them if that they make me look very similar to the character Napoleon Dynamite. (I've tried to post a comparison on this thread below, hopefully it worked)
It's only been a few days since I've gotten my over dentures, but is it still too early for me to know if I like them or not? I already have multiple issues with my image and I don't want for something I've gone through so much for to be another thing to add to the list. Should I just suck it up and get used to them or try to consult my dentist and get new ones?

Don't be embarrassed, Honestly you should thank yourself for getting it done, think how much money now you saved from the dentist, I be your gonna save so much $$$$$$ in the long run probably you can buy a new house or 3, TEETH ARE EXPENSIVE, we just cant put the blame on ourselfs its not our fault its life we all have emotions on different things just look at the positive.

I would be very proud if my teeth looked like yours do. The problem is that it is probably a change from the way you are used to seeing yourself so it is very difficult when things change and teeth are a major thing. I think in time you will get used to them and just enjoy your life with no more having to worry about how you look.

I think students go to a lot more trouble to try and do a good job and please both their tutors and us. I say this from personal experience in having work done by a newly qualified dentist and a student at a dental hospital.

I really hope you get to love your teeth and how they look, because they do look good. What is it you don't like apart from the comparison you made. Is it the size, colour or something else and can you eat okay with them.

How thick is the plastic the teeth are set in? My dentures are pretty thin plastic now, but the first pair I had were thicker and much too large. If the plastic is fairly thick then there should be room to make them thinner and smaller, and then they might feel more natural.

There's no harm in talking to your dentist about it. It sounds like they brushed off your complaints. But you know your face best, and you know better than them whether it's affecting your appearance.

As I understand they made you overdentures. I happen to be a big fan of overdentures but they are more difficult to do. The advantages are several. You have some sensation of where the food is, you GREATLY retard bone loss, and via attachments you now have very retentive dentures. Now the problem is that since you haven't lost your teeth your current teeth and bone wasn't reduced enough to allow for the thickness of the dentures. This is a common error. It can affect speech and swallowing also and even make your muscles tired.
You need a remake. Adjustments won't work. If the dentures are already thin then you will need the roots cut down more which may include bone surgery. Sorry but it is fixable so don't settle.
