Glad you got out for a run :-)

congratulations on getting through it. I'm glad your appointment went better than mine. and what the hell is up with these spammers?

is that Chinese? Or hieroglyphics!

I messaged takingflight - seems like it was a bot and she took care of it. Unfortunately, I think that some legit messages may have been deleted in the process. So, if you think you posted something (Tink, you may have) and it's not there, you need to repost.

hey where is Tink? just getting ready for a nap. first night working for the new company where our systems will be up. they let us reapply. I don't feel safe yet. There is no promise that i will get enough hours.

minor random di scomfort when running but nothing major. really scared they will say it's not healing well or something friday. Also getting dizzy after running not sure if that has anything to do with it but it wasn't happening before. same old flashbacks thought i missed them but no..delayed. it's making it harder to sleep you'd think i'd be used to this by now?

Scaredy how are you feeling? i couldn't find your thread in all that mess. I really hope something has improved and the dentist apologized for being snippy and snarky.

fearful that was some mess this morning. i couldn't find anything.

i will give a rundown of the whole thing after a nap if i can get to my computer instead of this phone.

Hello *waves*, I'm here ?

It sounds like you are healing well Tiger - remember that this stuff can really take it out of you, from the stress as much as from the surgery. It can hit really, really hard when it's over and the stress lets up a little bit - try to ease back into things gently, as much as you can bear to!

It's OK, I was reading but didn't lose any posts in this morning's spam flood!

LOL Tink as much as I can bear to...you know me so well already. I guess you are right...I mean I am used to tired but not this kind of tired...And I've already started worrying that they might find something unfavorable on friday. I sure hope not. I don't think I will ever relax.

Anyway as far as the actual procedure went, it really was far less dramatic and less miserable than a root canal. It took maybe an hour and a large portion of that was trying to get their 3d scanner working. It must have known how i felt about it, it never did work, so regular digital xrays sufficed yay less exposure right? I am not particularly sure what they used for the initial incision...it didn't feel like a scalpel but maybe it was. Dr C sat off to the side until the first post went in and they went to do the 3d that never worked. I was hoping she would come back, but she didn't. I feel kind of bad for making her come in early, she looked extra tired. She was the one that did my numbing which was nice. Dr H was pretty much focused on what he was doing not much chitchat between him and the assistants...the one girl came in last minute but only because D asked her too. I really do think she is annoyed with me over the xray thing.
Other than the machine not working it was pretty uneventful...very little actual noise, mostly pushing on the jaw...I think my jaw joint was more sore than where the implant is. No grafting materials. I chomped on the metal post on accident waiting on the machine because it wasn't very far in at the time...not hard but that rose a little internal panic.
Kept my crazy internal...and yes I did start to flashback at the point where all I could see were three sets of hands in my face pretty much. At that point though Dr C was gone and I think they were almost done anyway...whatever they were doing that required so many hands in my face ended before I went full tilt panic attack. For the most part though, he actually ended up standing more to my side and in my visual field for this than he has for root canals or even dr C has for any work. That helped a lot I think, and the lack of a dental dam. lol
I have to reform my opinion of Dr H. He's kind of dry when he is working...but afterward he is pretty congenial. I just don't think he knows how to deal with someone this panicked. I am not sure if he knows that one of my main issues has nothing to do with dentistry or not, but I am sure that would make it harder for him to know what to do with. I think this was the first actual time I looked at him properly. I don't think I have even when speaking with him before. He doesn't seem like such a bad guy after all. But I still really have no desire to see him for anything unless it is something Dr C doesn't do. Sorry I still prefer a female...
He asked how it was...I told him I would let him know next week hahah. I wasn't willing to give an inch on it wasn't that bad until i knew how healing would go.
My other teeth are actually more pissed off on the opposite side from the recessions and just not being able to keep up my typical stuff to keep them happy. I'm afraid to ask about that through. I don't want these crowns taken off.

Maybe the dizziness after running is just part of having been so stressed and worried over the whole procedure plus your job? I know I can get so upset that I feel lightheaded.

I'm glad it was not the horrible experience you were expecting, and I wish you speedy healing.

that spam was a mess!
my post is in the lions tigers dentists thread. my appointment sucked.

I am not doing so great, and I have some pain. but I really don't ever want to go back. I do not want any more enamel ground off my top teeth to force them to fit the bridge on my bottom teeth. I have cold sensitivity now in teeth that were totally healthy and never even been filled. I do not want to be insulted anymore or listen to him make excuses for dr psycho or be blamed for it not fitting. If he did not think he could help me he should not have said he could or promised me it would be a perfect fit. now that it isn't, it's supposedly my fault. now that he has my money his friendly demeanor is gone. I am really disappointed and mostly just sad. I have cried every day since my appointment.

Oh no, Scaredy! I'm so sorry you are back in this horrible spot again. I can't even imagine and I wish I could help you go back in time at least to the couple of weeks of relief you had recently, but really to before all of this awfulness started for you!

Tiger - hang in there! Your body is working hard to heal and you may just need to direct all of the energy you can to that healing. I'm glad to hear that the appointment itself was not as horrible as you had imagined.

to me that's the worst part. I had 2 weeks in the temp bridge with no cold sensitivity and full of hope that this time all would go well. I wish I had stayed in the temp. or that I had never gone to the dentist in the first place back when I had all my teeth. to have felt hopeless for so long and then had those two weeks of being able to feel normal just makes it hell to have it taken away again. and now I have no one. I can never let him work on me again. as soon as I paid him he quit pretending to care

i just broke my implant i swear. i see something in the center it's not closed. i don't know what it is

You should call your dentist and describe it to them, maybe it's not anything serious but maybe they will want to see it.

i went thursday... i had a follow up friday anyway. Dr H said it was normal mouth version of a scab. i swear i'm never eating food again. i really am going to worry myself stupid over this...looks like they will for sure have to cut again to put the abutement on :( next follow up isnt till october but let's be real...i made them put one with dr C in august because we know i'm going to panic.

sometimes it feels a bit odd when im applying makeup over that area and occasionally the jawbone aches just a bit way down low...not enough to consider taking anything. i hope that's normal for 8 or 9 days out.

kind of fell off the planet for a bit. Had zip for energy the last week. Still worrying over the implant healing. is it healing right? can i really eat normally....
are they going to re cut my gums in october (yes october) please don't ruin halloween I like that one)

omg i dont know what is going on but a lower tooth on the side i've been eating on just started killing. i don't know if i chipped out a silver filling just enough for an exposure or if it's a crowned tooth dying but it aches and i can't make it stop. i don't want to do this anymore. i thought i was done for a while everything is newly fixed aside from old silver fillings on either lower premolar. why is this happening now. this is the only side i could eat on since the implant. i've not had any sensitivity on the lowers over there since the others were fixed. i can't do another root canal. i cant. what did i do in the last hour to cause this? i don't understand.

well it settled for now maybe it wasn't the old filling there is,a recession on a crowned molar and with the clif shot blocks i guess it could have been the issue. i wish they could fix these recessions. i live in fear because of them. I really don't think it's anything she did or I've done. It seems to be my body's reaction to crowns.

My body definitely does not like crowns. All of my crowned teeth have had to be RCT'd and they all have a good bit of recession. I would be terrified to eat the shot blocks for fear that all my dental work would be pulled off my teeth. I use the sports beans or the gu chews (they are small enough to swallow whole) and feel they are a safer. choice for my teeth.

they were a dollar ar work I usually suck on them. I hate gu and i like sport beanz but those aren't organic. I better not need more root canals all mine are as close to the nerve as can be so it's prob a matter of time. all my crowns from the first year have recession of some degree now. they didn't when done. :( stupid body and my gums are supposedly healthy except the one bleeds when i floss my rtc crown sometimes :/ i dunno i better not reject anything else.

ps how are you and how's running. i signed up for the virtual amerithon. soooi 3500+ miles to go by next july 4th

Sweet! Running for me is awful right now. From being sick earlier this year, I gained about 30 lbs. running sucks when I'm this heavy. I'm doing a lot of cycling to try to lose the weight, but a lifetime of disordered eating has really messed with my metabolism and losing weight is nearly impossible without resorting to seriously unhealthy restricting. So I'm caught between a rock and a hard place :-(. Hoping I'll be able to get back in shape soon - it sucks to feel like this.
