Im getting 28 teeth extracted & immediate dentures placed. Im really scared of the procedure in itself but its necessary due to decayed teeth and infection that keeps returning after antibiotics. Is it safe to have all 28 teeth pulled with only local anesthesia in one appointment? I keep getting people that tell me that the dentist shouldn't be doing it all at the same time or that they should be putting me to sleep to do it.

It's perfectly safe. You'll need to be careful of not biting yourself afterwards due to the amount of numbness. Also be very careful of hot food/drinks in case you burn your mouth.

The dentures are going to be a challenge, expect multiple visits for adjustments and or relines for the first few months.
