The left side of my face has started swelling again two weeks after getting my wisdom teeth out. I had a hematoma on the left side, which was slowly getting smaller and smaller. A few days ago I started putting heat on it again to try to get it reabsorbed faster because it seemed like it was almost gone. After I started doing that my face started swelling again, now the swelling has become quite noticeable and its painful to open my mouth all the way. I've been putting ice on it and took some leftover ibuprofen from when I got my wisdom teeth out. That helped with the pain, but it didn't do anything for the swelling. Putting ice on it makes it hurt a little.
There is also this weird taste in my mouth now and it looks like there is a noticeable hole in the back right side of mouth that wasn't there a few days ago, but I read that having a hole is normal. I stopped using the syringe for a while because I thought everything was ok, but once I noticed the hole I used the syringe and a bunch of stuff came out on the right side. The left side has no hole at all.
Unfortunately, I am back at school and can't go to see the oral surgeon who removed my wisdom teeth because he's far away. I don't know what I should do though. Should I try to see a local dentist or oral surgeon? Should I go to the campus health services? Should I go to the hospital?
