So tomorrow is my first cleaning in what I think is 7 years. The last time I went for a second opinion for a broken tooth the dentist told me that he saw 2 cavities but nothing major. He didn't really do a full look. The cleaning I had 7 years ago was at a big box dental place that told me I had something like 8 cavities. My teeth look decent to the naked eye and I don't really have any pain on a regular basis but I am absolutely horrified they may say something like wow you have 8 or heck even more cavities ;-(

Good luck tomorrow.
The fear we build up in our minds is usually a million times worse than how our appointments will really be. I never had a cleaning at all til I was 20 and then due to that experience I skipped 19 years of cleanings and naturally had gum disease but no cavities. However when I was a child I had no dental care at all until I was 14 at which time I actually did have 8 cavities, all of my molars needed to be filled. So even if you do have 8 cavities I promise it is not the end of the world.

So the verdict is 4 cavities 2 one service and 2 two surface on the left side. I'm happy but a bit disappointed I was told SEVEN years ago that I had 8. Were they trying to scam me then? Ugh yet another $500 dental bill on this one still
