My last post on here as about how much pain I was in post teeth removal under iv. Turns out I had a dry socket.
I never went back even though I had more work that needed doing. I couldn't face it.
Since then I've moved and have managed to take my four children to a checkup. My mil would have had to go back with any that needed treatment but luckily none did.
I haven't been able to take myself though.

And now now I have another tooth that actually needs treatment here and now. . The gap between two teeth seems to have disintegrated (I'm feeling sick thinking about it) but it's the fact that it's irritating my cheek and lip that means it needs doing now.

We don't live near the dentist I managed to see before so would have to find one I'm comfortable enough with again. Plus we're skint so I can't go private. I don't think I can do this without sedation.

This is is my first step. I needed to get it out there. I'm now shaking and crying.

The mad thing is my lottery dream is to have braces... Go figure.

I have made an appointment for the beginning of September. I chose to wait that long as I don't want to see a locum. I'm sure they're fine but I want continunity of care.

Hi good for you for making that first difficult step. I think you were right to wait so that you can see someone on a regular basis. Try not to get too stressed and worked up about the appointment as the first one will be more of a meet and greet and assessment as to what you may need doing.

Most dentists are very good and understand that we are nervous and afraid and will do their best to help us work with them to get the treatment we need.

All the best to you :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::butterfly:

Thank you. The support is appreciated.
Well it's in 37 minutes.
I've spent all night with stomach ache from nerves.
I realised the other day I don't know if this dentist does sedation. They say they cater for nervous patients but I may just be wasting my time (and money) as there is no way I am having any treatment without it.
Im also really embarrassed about the state of my teeth. I don't need any more lectures. I know they're crap. If they lecture me I won't want to go there...
Anyway. Time for a cuppa and then I'll clean my teeth. Again

Hello there.

now there's a coincidence; I have an appointment today at 3.30 pm ?

Firstly good on you for taking that important step back onto the dental ladder. Nowadays it's very unlikely that you will get lectured, at the end of the day you are the customer so if they want your custom they will have to treat you well (I'm sure they will).

Good luck with the appointment, don't forget to let us know how you get on, I'm sure you will be fine.

Well I got there and they had put me on with the locum my children see so two reasons I don't want to. After all that I'm going back next Wednesday. I may have cried a little and then burst in hysterical tears when I got back to the car
I just want nice healthy teeth.

Hello Bronze

Hope you are OK and not too stressed; did you manage to get in to see the dentist and if so have they given you a treatment plan to get you sorted? hoping you are feeling a little calmer now.

my appointment went pretty well; I got my cleaning sorted (looking good, all 0s and 1s with the odd 2) and have booked an appointment for a crown prep, post and build up on my recently RCTd tooth - all good so far, it's reassuring having a dentist who is so good at what he does.

hoping to hear from you soon.

kind Regards

What did they say you needed doing ? I think you did really well getting there :jump::jump::jump: One day you will have a healthy mouth and teeth that don't hurt. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::butterfly:
