Hi Please help!

On Friday I am getting 5 teeth in total extracted including two front upper teethI am very scared about the surgery! I am getting IV Sedation but I am still going to be awake will I feel anything ? I am getting cast metal partial dentures and am very worries they wont fit propery and will look silly! also scared I wont be able to eat properly again please help me ????

I have never had IV sedation, but I did have nitrous, which is a similar form of conscious sedation, from what I understand. I was aware of what was going on, but they give you a local anesthetic as well, so you don't feel anything. The sedation just helps relax you.

IV sedation is great, you won't feel a thing and will most likely not even remember anything. The most users report iv sedation as getting hooked on it and in the next second being it over. You will be surprised how easy the procedure was. If you like some further reading about this, here is a great article from the FAQ Section here on the forum: https://www.dentalfearcentral.org/help/sedation-dentistry/iv-sedation/

Hope an experienced member can reply to your worries about the partials soon and help you to ease your fears about this. I can just say that I had seen a lot of people who wear partials and it never looked silly, on the contrary - the most of them were able to smile and eat after a long time.

Cast metal dentures are the best you can get, I think they can be made to look better than implants and crowns in the front, so you should be fine there.
