Getting implants: terrified

For me, the question is, can a person who has no teeth left get the most natural feeling restoration of their full mouth (which would be individual implants with crowns)? Surely this is possible, albeit expensive...

Yes, I agree with Tazey on that. Find out ahead of time exactly what will be happening on the day of your operation and the plans for after that. For example, how are they going to ensure that you will have an acceptable bite? Will you have temporaries for a while? This sounds like it will take a few appointments. There's a 5 part video series on YouTube about full mouth restoration by Mark Durham. I suggest you watch it to see if that's what you should expect. Knowledge is power.

Jimmy, would you mind telling us what is on the video? There are people around who may not feel able to watch anything teeth or procedure related due to their dental fear so before clicking on it I would like to know if it can be triggering..

Thanks. Didn't think of that. The 6 part video series just details the planning process for a full mouth restoration using implants and crowns, from a dentist's perspective. I thought it would give Wolf a good idea of what he should expect. It's pretty scientific. But I will keep these guidelines in mind for the future.

It went well. I only had 10 places so the others were right. I’m on day 3 post op and had my first ‘meal’ of soup. I’m slightly paranoid right now as a stitch has come loose and I can’t contact the office till tomorrow.
