Going Back Tomorrow After Major Freakout in His Office

Hubby is not able to go with me.
The dentist's office staff keep telling me I need a root canal.
Isn't that supposed to be the dentist's decision?
 
The dental office staff could just be telling you what the dentist has written in his notes.
