My 4 front bottom teeth feel a bit loose and I KNOW I have some gum recession going on. I'm pretty sure I will need some type of intervention for this. I've been researching options and came across something called LANAP, it sounds very promising and something I might be able to handle. I also think it might be a good idea because I have limited mouth opening due to TMJ(this developed after dental work, so I have a HUGE fear of dental work in general). I can open about 2 finger widths but I need breaks quite frequently.
Has anyone had LANAP? How is dental work done with limited mouth opening? I am an American but currently live in Germany, so I've found 1 doc that speaks great English that does LANAP and I'm hoping to see him but if that does not work out I was considering going to London since it's an easy flight.
I'm truly scared to visit a dentist. I'm hoping that I can find a caring dentist who doesn't make me feel like a fool:(

I could just use some thoughts on this. I know either way I will have to take extra meds and I've already had to take anxiety meds just because of the fear.

I have a patient that I see that has very limited mouth opening like you and while it is a real challange treating her it has been possible. I was able to do two crowns on her back teeth by sedating her lightly and chaanging my technique for her. You might have to look around some to find a dentist who can help you.

Thanks so much for answering, at least I know their are some dentists that are willing to help. It also gives me a better feeling that you were able to accomplish crowns on a patient with limited opening.
Uhhh still frustrating and scary though. Thanks again for replying:)
