help please with a problem with my dentist.

It may not be problem but i am unsure,to cut a long stroy short i have had my extractions done three months ago and a deep clean on the teeth i have left,
i returned today to have a check up and fing out what treatment was coming next,

The dentist said i need another deep clean on the teeth i have left as there is a red line across my gums which means there is pus under there,oh great.

The we discussed replacing the missing teeth,great i thought i have been without anything for three months,he said he needed to make some study moulds,
Then he would talk to the guy at the lab and see what the can do,he said each partial is going to cost from £600 to £1000 each,on top of this i need a bridge.

I was wondering if this is a normal cost for each partial,i cannot get another appointment for three weeks for my deep clean,then he has not given me any idea of how long it will take for the rest to happen.

If anyone can tell me if these sorts of costs are normal for private,i would really appreciate it,i would jjust love my new teeth before christmas but cannot see that happening

It's a hard one to answer.

I don't do alot of denture work- but I have a colleague who does. Some of the dentures he provides can cost upwards of £600- however these are usually top of the range cosmetic dentures. Has the dentist given you any other information about what material the dentures are to be made of, and what quality of teeth will be on them etc? Are there other options to the standard being offered- eg are there cheaper or more expensive teeth or materials? He should be able to tell you why he recommends a certain type of denture over another and what alternative options are available.

I'm unsure why you would need a bridge if you are having dentures.
If you are having a denture anyway- this could replace the gap instead of a bridge- unless there is another reason to have the bridge which I am unaware of.

hi thankyou for the reply,the dentist said as i have a closed bite they need to find dentures that are quite slim something will flex in it i think,

I have two front teeth missing the top teeth are not strong enough to do a bridge,but the bottom teeth are strong enough so he is going to do a bridge on the bottom,
