I had an emergency root canal done today on that tooth near the front.. the canine one, I think? I call them vampire teeth.
Anyway, the day and a half before I got it done I was in excruciating pain. All over the right side of my jaw, really. I first thought it was my back molar (which is in bad shape too) but the dentist said it was this other tooth, which does hurt too I think. It's hard to tell which tooth hurts the most.
Tomorrow I go in to get it finished, but since right after the root canal I have been in so much intense pain... far more excruciating than before! Is this normal? I almost passed out from the pain, and T3's aren't working. This is a new dentist who I have never been to before. He said he wanted to fix all of my teeth instead of pulling them (like the previous two dentists wanted to do). He said that this tooth that he was doing the root canal on was infected and that's why it was hurting.
But he didn't give me antibiotics, and he didn't give me a prescription for pain pills (I have been using various things from other people... which can't be good). Is this normal? I'm not exactly sure what I should be getting.. ie pills, antibiotics, or even amount of pain? I've been looking it all up online (I have been up all night with intense pain)
Can someone tell me if this is normal, and if I should stay with this dentist? He knows I have a huge fear of dentists, and pain, and said that I have nothing to worry about. But right now, I am very worried, and very much hurting.
