Hi

Hope you can help

I have this mark on my gum between teeth as in the picture, I noticed this back in November but could have been there before! I went to see my Dentist and he said that it was nothing to be concerned about but would keep an eye on it and if there was any change go straight back

Since then I have kept a close eye on it and it has not changed but I would like to know if it is anything to be worried about?

I am due for a inspection on 30
th Jan this year and will question him further

Any help please to calm my worries on this till Go

Thanks David

It looks like a response to some sort of mild trauma to me, got any habits that might cause it, chewing matches/toothpicks, something like that?

Hi
No none of that or any trauma, baffling

On your lower right it is a papilloma
on the tissue in front you have exostoses under the gum also known as tori

Ok thank you

Any advice on the papilloma is there anything to worry about etc

What should I be asking my Dentist to do when I see him next Wednesday?

Ok to update

Went to the dentist he said he was not concerned but would refer me to the Maxilofacial unit at the Hospital if i wanted
I took his offer and am waiting for the appointment

Update

Went to Maxilofacial appointment at local Hospital today, the specialist said he was not concerned and said he had seen many like what I had

He said they will remove and biopsy, as I was concerned about it, so now have to wait for the appointment to come through

Will update when I get it and start to get nervous

Thank you for the update, I am glad you have got this looked at and have been taken serious as it was worrying you. Let us know how you get on when you get your appointment. :)

Just an update

My appointment for removal is this Wednesday 5th June, bit anxious but as it hasn't changed any I am sure as the consultant stated nothing to worry about

So it will have been today that you had the removal, I hope it has gone well :grouphug::butterfly:

Hi yes it was, Had it removed the specialist cut away the thing going up to the crest of the gum and scraped the teeth adjacent and he has now sent it to be tested, So now have to wait for the results but he was 99% certain will be ok

Have to say the wait and the build up was the worse part, the actual removal took 20 mins including being numbed and removal and the wound being quarterised, was on jelly and ice cream for a while but seems ok now just a bit stingy if i try to eat anything that pushes on that area not bad for being 4 days and healing quite well will post a picture when all healed

I have what the full name of the diagnosis I will post it later

Ok so full diagnosis was Gingiva Epilus of Fibroepithelial Polyp, You can see healing quite well now
