Hi everyone. On Tuesday I had an upper molar extraction by my general dentist. It was a rough extraction, but he did get it out. Before leaving the office I got really lightheaded and pale and almost fainted twice on the drive home ( I wasn’t driving btw ) this hasn’t happened before so idk what could have caused it and I am also worried about dry socket. My jaw is sore today , but there’s no real pain yet but I’m still worried that it could happen. Also I’m worried about how to keep food out of the huge hole :/

Dry socket doesn't happen after 48 hrs, forget about it. Don't worry too much about food going in there either, it's not going to be a problem.

You felt faint as a sort of reaction to all the stress, especially if you hadn't eaten for a while before the appointment.

thanks Gordon :) it was at 8:30 a.m. and I really didn't eat lol just a little bit of oatmeal

I understand the reluctance to eat before doing something like this, but your body needs some fuel to deal with the massive fight or flight reaction that is triggered by the adrenaline release.
