hi freakout
my jaw hurt after my last rc but that was due to the amount of injections i had. paracetamol is a pain killer the ibuprofen for the inflamation and the paracetomal for the pain . ive also kind off decided im going to ignore it just see what happens its difficult because its next to the rc one which is hurting too so its hard eating but ive had enough now its not so much the pain now but the frustration im causing c its upseting me and at the moment i just cant take it :'( thanks for listening
mand x

Hey Mandy...I can totally understand the frustration. That is actually why I have not called the dentist about the current problem. I can feel a bump, but you can't see it. It is way down by the end of the root, not even sure if its associated with the tooth. There is no way I am going to go in as an emergency without proof of something. My luck the bump would disappear the minute I sat in the chair. lol
Please vent as much as you need to, I know it always help to get out the frustration, and not be judged for it.

thanks freakout
the most important thing to me at the moment is c im not going to loose him its taken me 20yrs to get this far if he says hospital ill go ill do it for him. some people wont understand but its important to me .

Harper, Freakout
So sorry you two are in so much pain   :-X - it seems to be going on forever - hope the painkillers let you get some well-deserved sleep and rest tonight.
Good night
Brit

Thanks Brit...Mine is actually just aching...it's the fever thats kicking my butt. Not high enough to be out of commission, but high enough to feel real yucky. The constant aching is getting to me, but I am able to sleep. Probably due to the muscle relaxant I am taking for my jaw spasm :-/ I guess it is just a never ending saga. lol

hi brit
thanks i didnt sleep very well but never mind. my tooth finally fingers crossed seems to be easing off . maybe i frightened it by telling it id take it to see someone else ;D the only prob ive got now is the damn rc tooth at the top i had done last week its hurting a never ending nightmare :(

Hi :) So glad to hear one of the teeth is settling down. It could be that the rc tooth just hasn't settled down yet. The pain in the other tooth may have taken away from the pain in that tooth. Hopefully that tooth will settle down real soon 8-)

hi freakout
hope your ok?
well i managed to eat something properly yesterday without having to use my back teeth to bite with actually used the front ones!
the tooth that was hurting is strange because i know something isnt right down there i know the rc tooth is still sensative esp if you tap on it,the one next to it seems better unless its cold re if i go outside it hurts. now im wondering if its the rc tooth that has been hurting me all along :( its not as bad now so hopefully its going away. hubby says ive got strange jaws nah im just strange! :D

Glad you're feeling a bit better... I've got my fingers crossed that things will settle down for you  :)

hubby says ive got strange jaws  nah im just strange!

Hey, there's nothing wrong with strange - I can be strange too ;D! It's much better than being boring!!!

Of course you can - you've already been back once for the x-ray, since the really difficult appointment. It may not be easy but you know you can do it - you've achieved so much already. [smiley=notworthy.gif]
Best wishes
Brit

thanks brit wish i was that confident, wasnt so bad for the xrays it was my old practice. funny enough theyve just phoned to cancel my hubbies app as they still havent replaced c yet. miss them realy they were nice. thanks for your support its apreciated, mandyx [smiley=hug.gif]

Hi Mandy :) Glad to hear you were able to eat. Hope you continue to do well.

I am starting to go into panic mode again. My appointment is less than 48 hours away. I am really nervous, because the gum is really sore below the tooth with the crown. I am scared that when he numbs the area it will really be painful. I also have a bump at the base of the gum below that tooth, which is painful. I tried to rest over the weekend, but still ran a low grade fever and felt like garbage.

Can you tell me how they go about removing the temporary crown to put on the permanent one? I also am going to have some more cavities filled [smiley=frightened.gif]

hi freakout
sending you a hug [smiley=hug.gif] i actually wish my app was sooner cant stop worrying about the other day :'( so sorry you feel unwell me too but not my teeth this time!
when i had my temp crowns removed i was really worried before c asked me if i had any questions and i was too scared to say so s had to. when i had mine done one was difficult as it was right at the back and my tongue kept getting in the way(i was sedated) so i was terrified it would be difficult to get the temp of but i neednt have worried. i had 3 done at once wasnt sedated and didnt have any local although c did say i could if i needed it. he just literally popped them off it was easy i didnt feel anything and when they were off i didnt feel anything either. i think the cement they use to put the crown on tasted funny but no big deal. i then had the crowns put on didnt feel anything then either. c had a scare though he thought hed put the wrong one on the wrong tooth! close shave there. i actually love them got two at the bottom and one at the top, felt special cos i got gold ones although i think most people dont like them, you cant see mine they are at the back. when i go next ive got to have some fillings too,3 small ones c said im not really sure what they are doing because i know i needmy two temp rc removing ive had the rct but still have temps in and i need 2 fillings on the right side one of which needs a crown its more filling than tooth why dont we ask what they are doing before we leave?? dont worry about the crown it was fine big hugs [smiley=hug.gif] what do you think of this im thinking of getting c a mug and a bear with his name on the front and no1 dentist and a tooth pic on the back to say thanks x

Hi Mandy...I think that's a good idea :) I have to do something nice for mine too. I think I am more worried about the fact that he will need to numb me up(it's a live tooth) It is so sore in the gum area. I thought the tooth was going, but the tooth doesn't hurt just the gum, and the bump at the base of the gum [smiley=frightened.gif] I also feel pressure on the left side, but no tooth pain. Go figure :-/ Usually I don't ask what will be done at my next appointment either. He just told me he would do some little filling, when I get the crown. I think he figured I would be numb in that area, better to do them then, rather than have to numb me up again.

I am so scared that when he numbs that area of the gum, it is going to be really painful [smiley=frightened.gif] Especially by that bump. You can't see the bump, but I can feel it.

hi freakout
wish i could help do you get magic cream as i call it? before the jab that might help .what is your dentist like at the injection? c always says it will sting even though i have the magic cream and i can honestly say it never has. my old one was an animal but then that was 22 yrs ago! [smiley=hug.gif]

He does put on the numbing gel...& is good with the injections in the back. He always warns me I will feel a pinch. It the one's in the bottom gum that I dread [smiley=frightened.gif] Iam going to tell him its tender, and about the bump, however my luck the bump will disappear when he feels for it. I am like you, I dread having to tell him about yet another problem :-/ But I know I must inform him about the problems...I was hoping it would subside & I wouldn't have too. :'(

i had a huge fear of local in my bottom jaw after the bad experience i had so i know how you feel the bottom ones still frighten me now.hopefully if you have the cream and hes good at it youll be ok but make sure you tell him ive got to tell c my bottom one still isnt right so we can be brave together. thats if i ever get back there :'( :'(

I guess everytime he is numbing me, I remember a very painful experience. I had to have my jaw wired, to prevent damaging a surgical procedure that was done on the joint. He numbed the entire mouth, 12 injections. OUCH!! My mouth was sore due to the surgery, than that.

I am so nervous about this appointment. If I tell him about the pain, will he want a consult before putting the crown on??? I really can't afford a specialist, mentally or financially. If I don't tell him, I could hurt alot more [smiley=frightened.gif]

You can go back to c, just remember everything you been though up to this point, and how great he has been. You can do it!!

yeah me too i had the max local allowed when an old dentist was trying to do my rc on a bottom tooth everytime she tried to drill i just leapt out of the chair. i had to go to the dental hospital at portsmouth to be sedated to finish it and all i can remember now everytime i have one in the bottom jaw is that and the taste of the stuff [smiley=sick.gif] you will have to tell him i think, i know what you mean though i cant take anymore emotional stress im at breaking point.last week i cried fot 15 miles all the way home and went straight to the doctors and said i need to see someone :( yeah hes the best but i just cant stop thinking about what was said last week feels like ive lost a friend its really hurting :'( :'(
