Unfortunately, I need to have all my front teeth removed uppers. I am looking for the best possible comfortable denture fit excluding implants. My current Dentist, who is very good insisted. I got this metal frame. She put it in my mouth. It was very heavy and so uncomfortable, I will not be able to wear it. I am looking for an option. Longevity is not an issue as I am in my 70s. I am just looking for a comfortable fit. Any advice you can give would be great. I see her this coming Tuesday again and would like to have an alternative to discuss with her other than this metal thing. So much thank you

Have a read at our dentures page here: https://www.dentalfearcentral.org/faq/dentures/

As a rule of thumb, which is all I can say without seeing you, the cast metal types are the lightest and most comfortable to wear.

All acrylic dentures are less retentive and tend to be a bit thicker so cause more issues initially with speaking and eating.

I appreciate that the metal ones look like a medieval torture device but they are pretty much the best option in most cases.
.
A flexible material such as Valplast might be a bit more comfortable initially but they do have some issues of their own.

You really could do with discussing the different options with your dentist, they have a much better idea of what's going on in your mouth than some old bloke on the internet :-)

Thank you so much for your speedy reply. Would it be unreasonable to ask my Dentist if I can try on these different materials before I make a decision on what feels most comfortable in my mouth

It's not really possible to do that unfortunately. Both the all acrylic kind and the flexible kind need to be custom made to an impression of your mouth, so they'd basically be made completely before you could try them.

You should be able to see and handle some examples of them, if the dentist has some lying about, but you can't try them in.
