hi so I'm 16 turning 17 soon and I'm getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow at 9am. I'm using a local anesthetic with laughing gas but I have a fear of needles. I'm getting all four out. I don't know a lot about the procedure and I think that's why I'm having a lot or anxiety about this. None of my teeth are impacted when the oral surgeon checked 3 months ago. I've never used nitrous oxide before and I'm nervous for that. I've only gotten a needle once when I had a cavity 8 years ago so Im a little nervous for that! I also want to make sure I recover fast and I was just wondering if anyone had an answers or advice to my questions to relieve some anxiety I have? thanks so much!

Hi!

I had 2 of mine out using the laughing gas at around the same age as you. Completely pain free and when you have the laughing gas, you really won't care at all. Really no need to worry! (easier said than done I know).

I totally get your anxiety! I get all four of mine out in 2 weeks. I can't respond fully to this post yet, but I can advise you about the nitrous gas. When I was younger, I had to get a filling in one of my teeth. They numbed the area (didn't feel anything after that), and they put a "clown nose" on me. Back then, they asked which "flavor" I wanted it to smell like... I picked strawberry. Since we have grown older, I think it'll be just the regular gas with no scent. However, it makes you feel relaxed and really not care about what's going on.
