Going for the impressions for my full bottom and top partial denture next week. Does this visit take a long time? Do they do too and botttom molds together? How long is that thing in your mouth? I think they said I go back once befure the extractions to try something on? Please explain.

I'd do it in less than 20 minutes. Does that count as a long time? :)
The impressions are usually done separately. Time in the mouth is normally less than 2 minutes.
There are usually multiple stages to making dentures:

1) Impressions
2) Master Impressions. Sometimes we custom make the little plastic trays that hold the impression material, these give a more accurate impression
3) Jaw registration, working out the way that your teeth fit together when you bite
4) Try in stage, the teeth are set in wax to check the shape and colour and to double check the jaw registration
5) Finish
