Hello - I was wondering if it is to be expected to get pain after crown prep. I had decay between two crowns and the back one (upper molar) was prepped today with a temp.
I felt no pain before the treatment or during except a very slight discomfort when the dentist said he needed to clean right below the gum.
I felt quite wobbly after the appointment, an hour in the chair and have had some issues with jaw pain recently, so thought maybe it was that. The anaesthetic has now worn off and I am quite uncomfortable, feels swollen. Do you think this is the gum? I think I can feel the cement a little with my toungue and seem to remember similar soreness once before that eventually calmed down.
Dentist did say its possible tooth/root will react but I would know about it and he didnt think so, the treatment went well and there was less decay than he thought.
So, any suggestions as to whether this is entirely normal and when to expect gum/tooth to recover and anything I can do to help it? I genuinely feel a bit battered and bruised (metaphorically). Lower jaw is aching a bit too.
Thank you. I really wasnt expecting it to hurt, so was surprisingly brave this morning when I went
