Pain and sensitivity after filling replacement - normal or not?

I have a very similar problem to you, CS.
I got a filling replaced a month ago, and while I do think it largely subsided after a couple weeks, there still is a weird tinge of pain every now and then. (in my case I think the cold sensitivity has also subsided, it's just a random dull nagging ache sometimes)
I also have a weird compulsion to lick the back of it a lot, like I subconsciously feel like that would make it feel better or something.

Hope you feel better, I'm in the same boat so I'll stay tuned :)

I have this same problem. I had a filling done , 6 weeks later still had pain. So went back. Had the filling re done. 2 weeks now and still pain. Maybe 2 filling in the same tooth in about 2 months has disturbed the nerve causing the pain ? I had a filling a year ago on the other size. That one feels fine and feel hard to touch with the tongue. But the recent one doesn’t feel hard to touch at all. Maybe they’ve used 2 different materials and my body doesn’t like the composite ? How long you you wait to contact the dentist. He did say if pain continues after 4 weeks then call back. I’m 2 weeks in ….
