I had a deep root cleaning a year ago but wasnt told or reminded to come back every 3 months.... so I didnt and when I went back this last week all the work I did a year ago had all been undone and I know need a new deep root cleaning. My insurance wont cover it so I'm paying for it out of pocket. I now know after this cleaning I need to come back every 3 months. Now I'm super freaked out. I'm honestly afraid everything i eat is gonna put bacteria in my mouth. I'm upset that it's never gonna go away. I'm mad at myself for letting it get this bad. Im assuming I have to give up the foods I love and check ever label to anything sugar related. I'm staying up all night googling stories, treatments and anything I can to feel better but I'm only finding how to prevent gum disease and I'm already clearly past that point. I feel like this now controls my life. Any help or advice?

First what you did or didn't do is common. So forget it and move on.
Apparently you have gum disease which most adults have. Typically dental insurance will pay to root plane as often as every 2+ years if needed.
Now what to do.
Don't smoke
Maintain a reasonable weight
brush and floss
obtain a good quality prophylaxis every three months.
Control blood sugar.

The above controls gum disease for 90+% of the population unless diagnosed in advanced stage.
