For many years I never used novocaine/lidocaine when getting fillings or crowns. I had lanap surgery at the end of March. I almost opted for an iv sedative but relented (due to added cost) to have lidocaine injections. I had my entire mouth done at the same time.

It is now July. My mouth feels weird. Kind of like it's dry. Kind of like it's hypersensitive.

Is this normal? Will it go away?

No.

Never heard of it before. Sensitivity or even allergy to lignocaine is so rare that it usually gets written up in the dental journals... but even if you were sensitive to it, 4 months on is pretty much impossible.
Give your dentist a call, it might be something else.
