My twelve years (second molars) were growing in very sideways. They do not have enough space to grow and when I just clench down the tiniest bit, it is very uncomfortable back there. Are there any long term effects? If so, are there any possible treatments? :dunno:

I say just take the first step and go to the dentist just to see what they say
in the first appointment all they do it x rays you can tell them you want to wait for treatment
If you feel nervous. That's okay. Just make the call, don't be scared.

When I was 15 (I'm 34 now), my lower premolar was growing in really sideways. From my experience, there wasn't a whole lot that could be done. I went to an orthodontist to see if braces could put it into the correct position, but that wasn't an option. I ended up having to go to an oral surgeon to get it extracted, and now I need an implant because the baby tooth that's still there is half-eroded.

Go see what a dentist recommends for your tooth. Every case is different, and technology has come a long way since I had my issue with my sideways tooth. Good luck!
