Severe Pain In Tooth Nothing found

Hi,
I have been to the dentist/emergency room/Doctor's office a million times for this problem so I am hoping that someone here may have a solution or a answer. I have had constant pain on two teeth (one on each side of the mouth) the pain is bearable but starting to drive me crazy. I have seek'd medical attention a bunch of times and nothing is detected. I did have a tooth infection a while ago but they removed it and the teeth that hurt aren't near the pulled tooth. I brush with sensitive tooth paste, use act sensitivity fluoride, and do the warm salt water rinse which helps for about 30 mins. I'm starting to get really down and depressed due to the mouth issues. I have no more insurance funding to cover it, and no money to see anyone for help. We have no Dental clincs that work with people. Any info would be helpful thanks! As a P.S. Note one of the dentists I have seen not only took x-rays but did a test with spray to check to see if my root was dead, and it wasn't.

Well, unfortunately not having insurance leaves you in a tight spot for sure. Its got to be something and I would possibly seek advice from either a neurologist for anything nerve related or an ENT for sinus related issues. Which side and what teeth specifically are having the issues?

one on each side of my mouth is hurting I don't know which exact ones. Its hard to pin point the pain myself, the pain spreads through my entire top row of teeth.

I'm in no way an expert but pain sometimes radiates through your mouth ..Maybe when you had the infected tooth pulled the pain is just moving through your mouth..I had a tooth pulled out last wednesday and now all my front bottom teeth hurt...Unless I have some serious infection I'm hoping it is just the pain from my extraction site making them hurt..maybe that is why you two teeth hurt?

the tooth I had pulled was over a year ago, and its been hurting since they pulled it out. One of the teeth that hurts is near the extracted one but the other is on the opposite side. And like I stated before, I have been to the dentist so much I ran out of my insurance until march of this year.

Could it be the infection is still present? maybe a root left intact after removal last year? Are there any dentists around your area that will take payments? I personally think dental insurance is crappy since dental procedures can become very costly.. Does the dentist accept CareCredit? We had to apply for that to suppliment our dental insurance..Is that an option for you?

All I know is when they pulled it they stitched it. They didn't tell me whether the root was left or not. Nah can't do anything credit wise. Kinda was stupid when I was 18.

The puzzling thing here is that it hurts on both sides. The trigemenal nerve is separate one side fom the other but the top and bottom nerve on each side are essentially branches of the same main nerve. This is why you get top/bottom transient pain but is always on the same side. I have not ever heard (or experienced) pain on one side of mouth travelling to the other. The more I think about it, the more i say seek out a neuro as they have more tools and experience diagnosing nerve associated pain.

I wonder about this being a TMJ issue. Or as they are upper teeth, a sinus issue. Have you had cold or allergy symptoms? Any history of TMJ stuff? Does the pain get worse when you bend over?

Hi,
I'm no medical or dental professional....................just speaking from my own experience. Could it be that you grind your teeth at night.............you may not even be aware that you are doing it. I grind my teeth and I have woken up with ALL kinds of strange tooth pains.
I hope that you can get to the bottom of your pain so you can find relief soon.

Yes I do have Tmj, but its upper teeth that hurt. I didn't think TMJ could effect your top row of teeth. I have a fit mouth guard I use at night for that. No haven't had any colds or anything like that. Plus this has been going on for over a year now. My dental insurance resets in March and I get 2 free apts, I just don't know how well that'll go because I've been to three different ones and they all say the same thing. I don't know how to go to a neuro specialist. I don't know if I'm covered for that either. And yes I do grind my teeth another reason for the mouth guard. (This one was from the dentist offices, and fits perfectly)

In most cases (at least in the US), neuro is covered by medical insurance and usually has to be a referral from a general practitioner.

I'll set up a appt with my doc about it. She already knows about the pain, but couldn't help. I'll mention the referral.
