Yes that's pretty much it they are clearly loose but at the same time to stubborn to come out, they feel very sharp+are cutting my tongue. Anyone know what I can do?

You need to keep your mind busy and to focus less on the stitches. I know, easier said then done.

Yeah I see your point but their really sharp.

Ugh, I hate stitches in my mouth. Are yours the dissolving kind? They would drive me crazy when they started coming out, as bits would come off, but they would rub on my tongue. Not much you can do, though.

I think they are supposed to be but when I had my last op they said they'd dissolve after 2wks but they stuck around for about 6wks,just wish they'd hurry up they said I could ease them out but I'm not pulling them incase they bleed.

Are you allowed to rinse with salt water? That helped mine dissolve. I would rinse three times a day. Mine came out between one to two weeks. I can't imagine 6 weeks!

Yeah I'll try that if it helps hopefully they'll be out in the next 10 days 1.because its driving me mad+2.before my follow up as I don't want to sit there with him pulling them. Out.

I feel for you on the sticches.. they truly can be such an annoying factor.. I hope they take care of themself and the wound is good and healed.

Hi,

When were the sutures places?

I have my check up in 10 days in the hospital it was done in,not sure my local dentist would touch them as they've said before I'm under the hospitals care.

Not had stiches in my mouth before, but when I had a small lump cut off my back those stiches drove me mad, I was glad when the nurse at the doctors removed them from me.

Will be so glad when their out.

Could you call and ask them if it’s something they would help you with? You might just need to get the stitches cut to be shorter.

I know the last time I had stitches I noticed them more the last few days they were still in because a part got loose, but the ends were still held in so I had the stitches freely moving around, but still being held by the gums. I was able to move them around so they were less annoying and staying busy with work tasks helped me focus on other things. One morning at work the stitches felt even weirder and I noticed a few minutes later that they were actually no longer attached to the gums and I got the stitches out of my mouth.

. Pretty sure they need to come out not be made shorter, they'll prob just say well we are seeing you in like a wk. (plus its a case of getting down there,I don't drive). Even if I did have things to keep me busy (which I really don't) they would still hurt nothing could really distract from that.

I believe your dentist should have no problem removing the stitches, even though you were treated somewhere else.
After two weeks the stitches do not play a role anymore and removing them by now is safe.
