Temporary Bridge. Clearning around it(m)

The dental assistant told me NOT to use floss as I could pull it off. But I had an extraction under the site, so I'm going to have this temp probably for a while.

I mean obviously I need to give the extraction time to heal, but am I really not suppossed to floss around it for months? That doesn't seem to make sense to me.

Also do I still brush it with toothpaste. How long do I wait because of the extraction.

is the perm bridge that you have ... was it made in the office while you waited ? .. these tend to be very soft plastic and i can understand her worry about it coming out ... it also depends on the type of cement they used to place the bridge

as I noted my perm bridge was of the same quality as a perm bridge and the cement used was extremely strong so there was no worry of mine coming out so i dont have any experience with the strength and material used for yours

but her telling you not to clean it sounds very odd .. I would at least expect her to tell you to floss but carefully and yes brushing the temp is fine .. but just be careful

I wish i could offer more advice but I dont know what your bridge is so i dont know how strong it is ..

hopefully one of the dentists here can chime in

They just made it in the office while I was having the work done.

I'm guessing I'll just brush lightly and rinse with salt water the next few days and then maybe gently start flossing around it. AT least on the two far ends. I'm not sure about the part between the gum and the fake tooth because of course I have an extraction site there, trying to heal.

have a look for bridge flossers .. I use the Bridgeaid threaders and they are nice and small and go in with no issues

Ive tried a few diff kinds of bridge flossers and some of them are bulky as hell.. these ones are nice and small

for Floss .. I use Crest Glide

as for flossing under the bridge where the extraction site .. I would def give it a few days to a week to heal up .. this is where the syringe can be a lifesaver .. I still use mine ... like right after I eat ill syringe near the bridge to get anything that might have stuck in there of course i floss a few times a day as well but the syringe allows me to be sure there is nothing stuck in there .. plus that would be embarassing as my bridge is my front teeth lol
