For the last two days, my third left lower molar has been hurting. I had a root canal done on this tooth about two years ago. Whenever i chew gum a lot, it starts to hurt. Usually it goes away but this time it hurts more. Is the pain normal? Should I go see my dentist?

It'd be worth checking the bite on the tooth, 3rd molars are late to come in and can sometimes drift about a wee bit. Pain on heavy chewing only, not hot or cold, would make me a bit suspicious that it's getting battered when you chew.
