Hi, I haven’t been to the dentist since during Covid.
I visited a new dentist today as I get married in August and was looking to get some whitening. They suggested a full exam as it has been a while since I had one to make sure everything is okay before I proceed with the whitening so I went ahead with this.
It was my first time ever having a male dentist and I was super nervous but he was nice.
The X-rays showed I need fillings on 3 teeth my upper right 5,6 and 7 the 6th one has an amalgam filling in that has been there for around 15 years. All will be changing to composite.
He suggested having these all done in one appointment as it saves coming back for multiple injections etc but he did say he would be using a rubber dam which will be different to fillings I have had before.
I feel quite nervous about this and if I will be leaned really far back with it being the top right of my mouth.
I also have a hygienist appointment as part of the plan I have signed up to not sure how this will go.
My teeth other than this are in good condition especially considering I haven’t visited a dentist in around 5 years.
Does anyone have any tips or success stories of fillings with a rubber dam, the appointment will be around 90 minutes long.
I’m really nervous but happy that once it is done I will be on top of my dental health and a fresh start with regular appointments.
