Using glue for extraction and grafting?

The new oral surgeon I saw today used glue on the extraction site. I have never heard of this before and wondered how common it was. He was telling me everything he was doing as he did it. After the extraction, he put in the bone grafting particles, then a collagen plug, then he said he was stitching it up and putting glue on top. He said the stitches and the glue would break down.
 
Superglue was invented as an emergency battlefield dressing for sticking wounds together, it's why it's so good at sticking your fingers together if you're not careful with it!
I know a few periodontal surgeons who swear by it.

I know a few periodontal surgeons who swear by it. The surgeon I went to is a periodontal surgeon. I will say that it does help not feel the rough edge of the stitches.

That is really interesting! I did not know that.
