My wisdom teeth have started to break through and they are making my bottom teeth really uncomfortable. I want to get them taken out but my fear of needles have talked me out of telling my parents what is going on. I have avoided the dentist just about my whole life due to the fact that when I see the office iteself I go crazy and I become anxious and nervous because I know the needles and the drilling is coming. But any help on the procedure itself would be great. I have never had an IV but I have had the gas before, but it was just for a small procedure and it was years ago when I had it. Plus ways to tell your dentist that I am a needle phobe. My previous dentist was rude and had no concern for my phobia and went ahead with my procedure. I was shaking and crying when I left his office and he had teeth marks in his hand after the shot was given. Any help on how to overcome this. I have avoided needles at all cost since I was little and I plan to do the same now, but I know this is not going away and Im going to have to face them soon (I start college in a month). PLEASE HELP ME!!!

If your wisdom teeth are coming in that doesn't mean you will HAVE to get them out. My boyfriend and sister both got to keep theirs. If you do get them out please know I got mine out 6 weeks ago and it was nowhere near as bad as I expected. I got IV sedation and told the anethesist that I faint at needles. She gave me an emla patch to numb my arm before the IV went in which really helped. She was also so kind and sweet and really helped me feel safe and not ashamed at my fainting.I have no recollection of any needles in my mouth and wouldn't have cared at the time because of the IV.
