Wisdom teeth extraction phobia

Hi, I am brand new to the forum. I have extreme dental phobia as you can see. I am looking for dental advice and answers to my several questions. because I postponed my wisdom teeth extraction for many years and months. Now I’m worried my left wisdom tooth is getting loose. I am told it will take a month or more to see the surgeon and get the surgery. I wanted to ask if I decide to see an experienced general dentist instead, can they extract my two lower wisdom teeth that are infected. Will the general dentist be able to treat the infection too? I heard the jaw bone doesn’t decay, it shrinks. Is this statement true? And if a general dentist removes the tooth, will the infection go away since because the jaw bone doesn’t decay?

Not those ones. That's a job for an experienced oral surgeon.

Yes, writing a script for antibiotics isn't hard Usually the only treatment needed is to remove the infected tooth, taking most of the problems away.

The source of the infection is the tooth, remove that and things should get better.
