wisdom teeth removed.some left??

my wife had a few teeth removed last weekend,supposed to be four wisdom teeth and two others.They were all quite troublesome and she had general anasthetic and surgery. However,now the swelling has gone down,she has finally managed to have an explore with her tongue and has found that the dentist has left both of the top wisdom teeth on either side??? one is broken and the other is still mostly covered by gum,in that it hasn't completely emerged yet.The broken one is quite evident,I can see it with a torch.
Can anyone tell me if there may be a reason for this,other than Dentists mistake.I mean,maybe she was under for long enough or had lost too much blood,but surely he would have told her this?

I am so sorry I missed this, if you haven't already sorted this problem out, you need to contact the person that did the treatment and ask the questions.

It sounds like they have made a mistake, but unless you ask you don't know and you need answers. They should have informed you and your wife about what had happened and why.

I would be interested to know how you and your wife are doing in this matter if you would be so kind as to let us know
