Worried about my teeth

I went to the oral surgeon earlier this month for a wisdom teeth removal consultation. I let them know of my severe dental phobia and how I haven’t been to the dentist in a very long time because of it. They took a panoramic X-ray of my teeth. I thought they might give me a detailed rundown of my whole mouth and the issues I need addressed (by a general dentist) but they didn’t refer to anything but the state of my wisdom teeth. Would they have let me know if I had anything serious to worry about like loose teeth or bone loss? I’m so worried about the structural integrity of my mouth. Especially lately because the wisdom teeth have been causing me a lot of discomfort for the past few months (a lot of pressure in my bottom teeth to where they feel like they might be moving). The oral surgeon recommended that I see a general dentist but said to do it after my procedure with him (at the end of May). So should I assume that there are no serious issues with my mouth since he advised me to wait until after or would they just not tell me if they saw any other issues? Sorry for the long winded post, this has just been causing severe anxiety for me lately.

I'm a bit rusty on US matters, but I'm fairly sure that a specialist can't make comments on something outside of their speciality, for fear of a severe slap from the State Board of dentistry, so they really could only talk about your wisdom teeth.
If you had a couple of abscesses elsewhere they would probably have been OK to mention them, so I think you can rule that out.
Gum disease though is way out of their jurisdiction. Having said that, it's such a slow moving disease that there's no rush about seeing about it anyway...
