Yes, it's another countdown to treatment...boy, are we in for a fearsome week ![Scared [smiley=scared.gif] [smiley=scared.gif]](/forum/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/dfcsmilies/scared.gif)
I go in on Monday for 10 extractions, and fitting of my immediate partial dentures. I'm trying to get my head round this being the last five days of having a mouthful of natural teeth. I'm having all the remaining molars out, plus the front two both upper and lower.
Because of gum disease they're not much good at their original function anymore, and I know they have to be removed. But this is a real step into the unknown...and there's no way back.
I know that I will look better with my dentures: no sticky out teeth anymore. But I can't begin to imagine how long I'll take to adapt to my new gnashers, nor what I'll sound like when I go back to work in a fortnight's time.
At the moment I'm wondering what on earth to tell my team at work...being typically British, no one has ever commented on the very obvious dire state of my teeth, but I do need to write an email about why I'm taking a week off and give a hint of why I'll look (and sound) different on my return.![Hiding behind the sofa [smiley=hiding.gif] [smiley=hiding.gif]](/forum/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/dfcsmilies/hiding.gif)
