Hi, im new to this but feel i need some support. i've been terrified of dentists for as long as i can remember. Bout 15, yrs ago i was diagnosed with gingervitis which the dentist didnt help me to cure properly. I kept avin bouts of it which eventually lead to a more serious condition where your teeth loosen eventually, which has just started to happen with some teeth. One of them has now got to the stage where i need it removing cos i keep avin abcesses on the roots.

I am ABSOLUTELY PETRIFIED aving it out even tho im going to iv sedation. I'm frightened of everything from sedation not working to the awful mess i might ave in my mouth afterwards which i know sounds silly but im in such a state*:'( about it i thought id see if anyone else has ever felt this irrational. HELP!!!!!

Before I had my first tooth out, I was terrified. Truly. And it didn't help that I didn't like the oral surgeon.

BUT...it was a top back wisdom tooth that was pulled out in minutes.

After that I had two more wisdom teeth and two other teeth pulled by my dentist. None of these teeth (including the first one) were with sedation.

I was amazed at how simple a tooth pulling actually is. I told my dentist that if I could I would have my teeth pulled instead of cavities filled.

Don't know which tooth it is or if it is complicated, but truly...pulling teeth is not difficult. And take that from someone who couldn't sleep for nights before the first couple were pulled.

Hi, thanx for your input. Its the second to last tooth on the top that needs takin out, and its already a bit loose. Got to go in morning for the consultation. absolutely cacking my pants. Cant sleep, just had to get up while hubby was away with the fairies, jealous. Just want it all to be over with and life back to normal[smiley=scared.gif]

My experienced guess is that the tooth will be out within minutes. And you will wonder why you even worried.

I know...I was there, and my teeth were not loose.

But that is half of our anxiety...not knowing what will happen, isn't it?

LOL. I have never heard that one before...so, how did the consult go?
