Hello, I'm wondering what type of bacteria one would expect to gain entrance to the bloodstream if one has a broken tooth. (molar) I'm specifically curious if that would/could include e coli thereby causing a uti? I've had recurrant utis' for the past several years. The only thing I can think of that might coincide with their onset is a broken molar.
Thanks in advance for any info, persnippity

e coli is a common bacteria in the lower GI track and very common cause of UTI, try wiping front to back/good hand washing. UTI is a local infection. Doubt its from your tooth, you could get bacteria in your blood from the UTI, it ususally doesn't go the other way.
