Hi Lauralou, welcome to the forum. have you checked out the page where people have recommended good dentists for nervous patients? there may be one near you

Hi Lauralou. I figured I'd respond to you on your thread. First, big hugs to you. I totally understand how you are feeling. I too was feeling ashamed, full of anger and self hatred. The best way to get rid of those feelings is to muster up the courage to make that first phone call. I NEVER thought I could do it but once I did I had a sense of relief. I was taking control of those feelings and I believe you can too:) why not Google dentists in your area. Read their websites. See if they have a section on their website about dental anxiety. Read patient reviews and testimonials. That's how I chose my dentist. Of course you'll be embarrassed when you finally go but trust me, they will not make you feel that way. Everything I've read on here about dentists not being the same as they were 20 some years ago is true. Look at all of us scaredy cats on here and imagine how many more out there who haven't found this forum. Dentists today recognize this and treat their patients accordingly. They truly do want to have your trust and help you.

If you're too afraid to call can someone call for you? They can also explain your situation so they know ahead of time.

I truly believe you can do this! And you are going to feel soooo much better when you do:)

Anytime you feel you need to talk, I'm here:)
