Help, is it infected? Red area (picture)

I got my bottom wisdom tooth removed almost 6 days ago. I still have this throbbing pain that comes and goes, which makes whole area feel painful and it radiates.:/ My jaw is still very sore, the muscles in the area feel inflamed (painful to touch) and I feel like the teeth near extraction site ache a bit.

I just took a look at it and there is this bright red line/area near extraction site. What is it, is it sign of infection?! Does the extraction site look normal? I have no idea how it should look like... Please help.

I am worried about the pain - it's not unbearable and comes & goes, but feels hot & throbbing, which makes me afraid.

Anyone? Day 7 now and the situation is about the same. Still similar red and swollen area on the gum.

For anyone wondering, it all turned okay. I had a check up yesterday (day 10) and the area is healing nicely. No more redness, either.

The pain is most likely from bruxism and it causing pressure to the tooth next to extraction site. I have had bruxism for a long time, but removing the wisdom tooth activated a worse state and will have to get my bite adjusted. So it was good to visit dentist and find out what was going on.
