I just wanted to thank everyone here who has been so helpful.

I had a decayed back molar and a problematic front tooth pulled today. Thanks to my kind new dentist the experience wasn't as horrible as my past ones....

I have a question though. I am really, really sore in my mouth where I got the shots (I had to have a lot) and also the extraction sites are sore.

Anything else I can do for this? I'm taking Aleve

Hi ZombieGroupie!!!

HOLY GUACAMOLE!! What a day YOU'VE HAD!!! The mother of all appointments...(least in my eyes).
I'm so amazed and impressed by your courage to go and get it done and handled and am happy to hear that the experience wasn't as terrible as other's you've experienced thanks to your kind and skilled new dentist. Having someone you trust actually take care of you makes all the difference, I bet.

I'm sorry you are in pain tonight. I saw you're taking Aleve...which is like ibuprofen, maybe? If so my endodontist had me take two ibuprofen and one acetaminophen at the same time every 4-6 hours for the first 2 days. It worked really, really well. Try and stay on top of the pain though...meaning don't wait until it really hurts to take something. I'd take it religiously every 4-6. You may want to google aleve and the dosage with acetaminophen before you toss them back...but I found them helpful with a bad abscess and root canal.

I hope you can get a little rest tonight. You have certainly earned it. Please let us know how you are doing in the morning.

Dang you're brave!!!

thank you!!!

I'm still pretty sore but OK .

Hopefully it will wear off today more. I think it's because one was a back tooth and one a front tooth so there is pain in both areas. lol

Aleve is naproxen sodium which I think is an NSAID like Advil. It hasn't helped as much as I thought so I will try the advil/tylenol combo thank you!

:welldone: For going and getting it sorted.

im really pleased it wasn't as bad as you thought it might be. I'm sure the discomfort will subside in no time at all.

Truly amazing, it just shows what can be done with a good, caring dentist :)

thank you guys! I definitely appreciate my dentist so much now. HOpefully now it can be cleanings only hahah
