So pleased you got through your appointment so well. Isnt it a wonderful feeling? I know what you mean about the cost. I have a lot of money to find again for future treatment, but still paying the last few hundred on the last bit so... when I was doing some banking on line only two days ago and a message popped up about a new internet saver account I immediately set it up called it my contingency fund and transferred just £25 over. Not much but a start towards next bout of treatment. At least it will get a bit of interest and being out of my current account I won't spend it and hopefully will add to it, even if in dribs and drabs at least won't get spent. Its a flexible account dont have to put in the same amount regularly but whatever amount I want and when.

I have found a good way to save is to put all the money you get from coupons straight into an account, as you would have spent the money anyway, you will be amazed how quickly that mounts up. I hope you get your money saved soon, get your treatment and can spend it on something more plesent next time!! x

Well, it is all over, I managed it, walked in and this time even managed to tell him one of the injections hadn't taken, I normally wouldn't have been able and just had to suffer.

I'm very pleased for you ...with your dental history, not speaking up about such things is surely not the way to go.
Sorry to hear about the sleepwalking accident....your dentist is certainly quick to answer emails...I'm sure your thank you email was appreciated. You probably brightened his day. No doubt chat again in 6 months..enjoy Christmas and Happy New Year.

You know me too well ha ha ha ha ha I hope you have a really lovely christmas to, lets hope everyone manages their appointments and can relax, and thank you so much for the suport. My husband went to the new dentist across the street, who is NHS, he said she was young but very nice, but things went ok with the devil i know, so I don't think I will change. Largely thanks to all of you. THANK YOU! x

As to the cost, take a look at Tesco dental insurance. It's £16.95 a month, covers all your maintenance costs up to £200 a year, and 80% of all treatment costs up to £2000. I've been using dental insurance for ages now. First Boots, then HSA, now Tesco, and I think the Tesco policy is very good value for money. You can find details on their website, and they also have leaflets in store.
