As my user name suggests I have an allergy to mint. I find it really hard to get dental products. I use a colgate herbal toothpaste that has fluoride in it.
but I suffer badly from sensitive teeth. My dentist has put a fluoride coating on my worst tooth today after saying I had an extreme reaction to it being touched - I cried out in pain. The dentist explained the stuff he used isn't available to the public though which is a shame because it isn't mint.
He was unable to suggest any high concentration of fluoride toothpaste for sensitive teeth that isn't mint flavour. It's the front surface of the tooth oddly enough not even the top which you use to eat with. If I can't protect the tooth it will be a filling, if that fails a root canal and after that extraction.
Due to my anxiety my dentist can't get a proper x-ray of my teeth (recently sent to the dental hospital for a scan) and is hesitant to perform work on them without knowing fully what is happening. I struggle with allowing him to do work anyway so I am desperate to find a way to protect my teeth rather than have them drilled and filled.
Please, does anyone know of anything that might help? I need more fluoride for my teeth that doesn't have any mint in.
